Virginia City is unlike anywhere else we work. It is a National Historic Landmark district sitting at over 6,000 feet on the side of Mount Davidson, with a permanent population under a thousand and a tourism economy that fills C Street. Most of the buildings date to the Comstock boom of the 1860s and 1870s, and a lot of the glass in them is old, irreplaceable, and not standardized to any modern size.
That changes how the work is done. Original wavy glass, divided lights, and wood sashes that have moved with a century and a half of freeze and thaw need hand detailing and patience, not speed. We would rather quote a historic building honestly and take the time than treat it like a modern storefront and risk damage to something that cannot be replaced.

Not if it is done properly. Old wavy glass and divided lights need hand detailing, gentle pressure, and care around glazing putty that may be brittle. It takes longer, which is reflected in the quote. If we see a pane or a sash we think is too fragile to work safely, we will tell you before touching it.
Do you actually come up to Virginia City?
Yes. We are in Dayton, which is about twenty-five minutes down the grade, so we are closer than most of the companies working out of Reno. It is a normal part of our service area, not a special trip.
Can you clean C Street storefronts during the season?
Yes, and we schedule around the tourist day. Early morning before the boardwalk fills is the usual slot so we are not working in front of your customers.
Do you serve Gold Hill and Silver City?
